Indeed, Snyder is trying to have McKenna fired and is considering suing the City Paper over a satirical piece aimed squarely at the owner that ran in November.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that David Donovan, the Redskins' chief operating officer, had written a letter to Creative Loafing, the Tampa-based company that owns City Paper, a weekly alternative publication, alleging that the piece, "The Cranky Redskins Fan's Guide to Dan Snyder," defamed Snyder.
The story lays out in painstaking, and occasionally hilarious detail, some of Snyder's doings, both as owner and in his businesses.
McKenna, who has written a number of sharply critical piece about Snyder over the years, did not comment to the Post. However, Amy Austin, City Paper's publisher told the Post that the Nov. 19 story was "very, very solid," adding, "If there was something to correct, we would have corrected it."
