The Detroit Red Wings welcomed
Pavel Datsyuk back to the lineup on Monday night, and it didn't take him long to start doing what he does best: shut people down and score goals. He tallied a goal and an assist in the Wings 3-2 win over the
New York Rangers, including the first goal of the game which was also Detroit's first goal in over seven periods of hockey, having been shutout in back-to-back games.
It was vintage Datsyuk hockey as he stole the puck from
Brian Boyle behind the
Rangers net, and allowed Detroit to maintain possession as he drove to the front of the net to bang in his 13th goal of the season behind
Martin Biron.
