TORONTO - Phil Kessel's struggles at both ends of the ice have opened up a window on the strained relationship with Toronto Maple Leaf coach Ron Wilson. Kessel is riding a ten-game goal-less streak into Monday's game against the Atlanta Thrashers. It's his second major scoring slump of the season -- he had a seven-gamer earlier.
But more troubling for the Maple Leafs is how Kessel has been on the ice for so many goals against.
Kessel was minus-two in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. That dropped him to minus-eight over his slump and minus-22 on the season, last on the team and third-last among 541 NHL forwards.
When he was asked whether Wilson has offered any advice on how to snap out of the slump, Kessel was blunt.
