Andy Pettite Reportedly Leaning Toward Returning in 2011

Andy PettitteWhile the Yankees continue to do whatever dance it is they're doing before re-signing both Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter, there's still the question of what will happen to one of the other holdovers from the dynasty Yankees.

Will Andy Pettitte be returning in 2011 for a 16th season? Well, there's no guarantee of anything yet, but according to Newsday's Ken Davidoff. Pettitte is leaning towards coming back.

Which, really, isn't much of a shocker. Yes, Pettitte will turn 39 next June, but even as he nears 40 he hasn't shown too many signs of slowing down. He missed a lot of the 2010 season thanks to a groin injury, but he was fantastic in the 21 starts he did make. Pettitte went 11-3 with a 3.28 ERA for the Yankees last season.
