Clint Session, Anthony Gonzalez Injury Updates: Season Not Over, Yet

Filed under: Colts, AFC South, NFL InjuriesINDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts linebacker Clint Session may or may not play against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday.

Either way, his season isn't over. Not yet.

Session, who played the second half of a victory over the Houston Texans Sunday with a dislocated right elbow and fractured forearm, will address the injuries with rest -- not surgery and a move to injured reserve, Mike Chappell of The Indianapolis Star reported Friday.

Chappell cited a "source with knowledge of the situation" saying surgery will not be required.

"He is not going on IR. No surgery, just rest,'' Chappell quoted the source saying of Session, who is fourth on the Colts with 38 tackles.

In other Colts injury news, wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez sustained a posterior cruciate ligament injury against the Texans and could be out several weeks, according to John Clayton of ESPN.

Gonzalez and Session were among 11 players listed as questionable on the Colts' Friday injury report, with the others being wide receiver Austin Collie (hand), linebacker Kavell Conner (foot), offensive tackle Ryan Diem (quad), tight end Brody Eldridge (rib), running back Mike Hart (ankle), cornerback Jacob Lacey (foot), defensive end Robert Mathis (knee), cornerback Jerraud Powers (foot) and cornerback Justin Tryon (foot).

The Colts also announced Friday afternoon that rookie offensive guard Jacques McClendon will wear No. 80 and play tight end Sunday.

Running back Joseph Addai (neck) is listed as doubtful after not practicing all week and with Hart also not practicing all week, second-year veteran Donald Brown could make his second career start. Mathis practiced Friday for the first time this week. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
