Filed under: Giants, Rangers, MLB Playoffs, World SeriesARLINGTON, Texas -- Careful to give credit to Madison Bumgarner and the other Giants pitchers, the Rangers nonetheless admit they should be hitting better in the World Series.
A lot better.
The Rangers are the first team to be shut out twice in the same World Series since the 1966 Dodgers, against the Orioles.
"They're pitching well," Texas hitting coach Clint Hurdle said after his team was blanked in Sunday's Game 4. "Our discipline has been challenged.
"That game tonight, you can throw that game away. You can tip your hat to (Bumgarner) and move on.
"The other games we've had some pitches to hit and weren't able to square the balls up that were in the zone. We've got to string some things together." Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
