Filed under: Jets, Patriots, NFL QuarterbacksEAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- To everyone out there who hoped the Jets would be humbled by the egg they laid in their regular-season opener ... sorry. The Jets don't do humble.
As bad as the Ravens made their offense look last Monday night, as savagely as the they were treated by the fans and the press and talk radio all week in New York, the Hard Knock Jets never got down on themselves. Nor did they do that at any point Sunday against the Patriots. Not when Mark Sanchez nearly threw an interception on the first play, not when they only had the ball for 1:02 in the first quarter, and not even when star cornerback Darrelle Revis went out with a hamstring injury just before halftime after giving up a one-handed touchdown that Randy Moss may as well have caught with just his middle finger.
No, instead the defense rallied around Antonio Cromartie, the offense sizzled as Sanchez outplayed Tom Brady, and the Jets came back for a 28-14 victory that would have plain screamed "We told you so" -- if they weren't all doing that themselves.
