Filed under: Chicago Bears, Bills, AFC East, NFC NorthBuffalo has lost back-to-back overtime games and came within seconds of ending its winless streak with a tie at Kansas City last week in a game where just about every bad luck thing that could happen did. So seeing a team on the verge of turning its season around, the front office made the bold decision to claim embattled linebacker Shawne Merriman off waivers. He was supposed to arrive Friday to complete a team physical and if he passes could be in the lineup Sunday.
The Bills have been riding the arm of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, and with Merriman they could improve their pass rush. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been know to throw some errant passes under pressure that wind up in the hands of opposing defensive backs, and this would be a chance for the Bills to give their home fans something to cheer about.
