Air Force Navigates Tough Stretch

Filed under: Air Force, Utah, Mountain West
Four weeks ago, Air Force had its sights set on not finishing fourth.

In each of the past two seasons, fourth has been the best the Falcons could do after faltering against the upper third of the Mountain West Conference.

The past two weeks have been like deja vu.

The Falcons have lost to San Diego State and TCU. Both are ahead of the fourth-place Falcons in the Mountain West standings and, on Saturday, they face the third team ahead of them in Utah.

"I think this is probably the best team that they've ever had there," Air Force coach Troy Calhoun said of the Utes. "I thought the group they had two years ago was outstanding and a group at the end of the season you could have easily said that they should have had the opportunity to play for the national championship or earn the national championship vote. And yet, I think this squad is even better." Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
