Patrick Ramsey Released by Jaguars; Jeremy Mincey May Use Club on Hand

Filed under: Jaguars, AFC SouthVeteran quarterback Patrick Ramsey's career with the Jacksonville Jaguars was as brief as it was uneventful.

Ramsey, signed last week as insurance in a wake of injuries to the team's quarterback position, was released on Friday, the same day the Jaguars signed linebacker Jacob Cutera from the practice squad.

Ramsey was signed last week after injuries to David Garrard and Trent Edwards.

Garrard, who missed the Jaguars' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week with a concussion, passed a post-concussion test Tuesday and is expected to start against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday. He started the first six games of the season.

Edwards, who sustained a thumb injury in relief of Garrard against the Tennessee Titans Oct. 18, missed the Kansas City game, but aso has practiced this week. Todd Bouman, who threw for two touchdowns and two interceptions as the starter against Kansas City five days after re-signing with the team, likely will be the No. 3 quarterback against Dallas.

Also on Friday, defensive end Jeremy Mincey said he sustained a broken/hand wrist on Wednesday -- the same day he was named the starter over former first-round selection Derrick Harvey.

"Jeremy Mincey luck," Mincey called it. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
