With Slump Deepening, Giants Won't Commit to Playing Pat Burrell in Game 4

Filed under: Giants, Rangers, MLB Playoffs, World SeriesARLINGTON, Texas - Giants manager Bruce Bochy wouldn't commit to playing Pat Burrell again in Game 4 of the World Series after Burrell's awful postseason continued with a four-strikeout night in Game 3.

Bochy said he'd discuss it with his coaches later Saturday night.

"I want to play," Burrell said. "Could I blame him (for making a change)? Probably not. I'm not exactly swinging the bat well. This is a terribly important time for our team. I'll show up ready to play and we'll see."

Burrell is 0-for-9 with eight strikeouts so far in the World Series. For the postseason, he is 6-for-38 with 19 strikeouts. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
