DAVIE, Fla. -- Just to add insult to injury, the Miami Dolphins found out on Thursday that they feel victim to yet another blown call by the officiating crew at last Sunday's game with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Even though it was recorded in the official game book as an incompletion, quarterback Chad Henne's last pass of the game on fourth down has been changed to an interception. His arm was hit on 4th-and-6 as he was trying to connect with Davone Bess and Steelers' outside linebacker James Harrison dove for the ball while it was in the air, but replays and photos show that he clearly trapped it as the ball bounced off the ground first.
Oddly enough, referee Gene Steratore can be seen walking to the middle of the field, turning on his microphone and announcing that the ruling on the field was an interception and the Steelers took over possession. Since they were going to get the ball on change of possession anyway, nobody else really paid attention -- including the replay officials apparently. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
