Filed under: BrewersIf you've lost track of how many teams have courted Bobby Valentine the last couple of years, that's understandable. But it appears mutual interest between Bobby V and the Brewers might be at a strong enough level to get something done.
A report Wednesday by the Wisconsin Radio Network that the Brewers had an agreement in principle with Valentine to become their next manager was later denied -- through a spokesman -- by general manager Doug Melvin.
But Valentine was vague enough in comments to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt to suggest that reaching an agreement still remains a possibility. Asked point-blank if he had been offered the job, this was Valentine's response: "We have met but there is nothing ongoing and no follow-up meeting is scheduled."
