Filed under: Twins, Yankees, MLB Playoffs, American League Division SeriesMINNEAPOLIS -- One of the basic tenets of baseball is that winning teams need to have a good bench.
One day you might need the bench to start at second base. Another day right field. Another day DH. Another day first base.
The Minnesota Twins have a good bench. Maybe the best. His name is Michael Cuddyer.
Cuddyer has started at second, in right, at DH and at first in previous postseason incarnations of the Twins. Not bad for a guy who came up as a third baseman.
This time around, he'll be at first base Wednesday night as the Twins host the Yankees is Game 1 of the American League Division Series.
