NFL Issues Ticket-Refund Policy in Case of 2011 Lockout

The NFL on Tuesday issued a formal policy governing the procedure by which fans would be refunded for tickets to any games (preseason or regular season) that aren't played as a result of a potential lockout in 2011. The players' union believes the move was the latest in a long line of moves the league has been making as part of a plan to lock out the players once the current collective bargaining agreement ends. The league claims it's just thinking of its fans.

"We looked at it from the perspective of the fan who might be wondering, 'How can I send in my check or charge my credit card for these tickets if there's any uncertainty?' " said Eric Grubman, the NFL's executive vice president for business operations. "We wanted to make it easier for fans to buy those tickets without worrying what might happen."
